Internships in Global Engagement & Community Service - Colorado's UNA Chapter

Our UNA runs a Colorado-based internship program combining international relations, global engagement, and hands-on community service. As a 100% grassroots, all-volunteer organization, we're built by people who care about building a better world - and our interns are core to that work, not sidelined into busywork.

You don't need to live in Boulder County. Our internship program is remote-friendly across the entire Rockies region, so students and professionals from Cheyenne to Santa Fe, and beyond can take part.

What You'll Work On

Interns choose the track that fits their interests and background:

• Advocacy campaigns - support policy and awareness campaigns on global issues

• UN education - help design and deliver programming that teaches the UN's role and mission

• Event support - contribute to our 15+ events per year, from panels to community gatherings

• Marketing & communications - build content, campaigns, and outreach materials

• Research & international relations - write background papers and briefs on global affairs topics

• Model UN (MUN) - help run or judge Model UN conferences and prep sessions

• SDG initiatives - support Sustainable Development Goal projects as they arise

Community Service, Not Just Observation

Our internships are built around service, not shadowing. Ongoing programs interns can plug into include:

• Monthly discussion groups on global affairs topics

• Donation drives for partner programs, including the Uganda School Program with the Kellerman Foundation

• 15+ events annually across advocacy, education, and community engagement

Who Can Apply

We welcome anyone 18 and up - university students, career professionals, and community members at any stage. Whether you're studying or working in communications, social work, foreign affairs, policy, or a related field, there's a track for you.

Many of our interns fulfill academic internship requirements through this program, and we have a strong track record of supporting that process.
