2025 International Human Rights Awards

Since 1996, the United Nations Association – Boulder County Chapter (UNA-BC) has honored Coloradans who bring the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to life. Rights like dignity, liberty, education, and a decent standard of living. We’re thrilled to open nominations for the 2025 International Human Rights Award and invite your help in spreading the word.

Who’s eligible:
Any Colorado individual or organization advancing human rights. We especially welcome nominations that elevate under-represented voices and build a more humane, inclusive, just, and equitable community. Recent honorees include Micklina Kenyi (Executive Director, Girls With Books) and Sunflower Seeds Ukraine.

How to nominate (by Oct 15, 2025):
Please email two nomination letters (PDFs), each from a different nominator, describing the nominee’s contributions and impact. Where helpful, reference relevant articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR): https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights
