October Discussion Series: Dr. Douglas Snyder

UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION BOULDER COUNTY

October 4 Meeting of the Bill Kellogg UNA-BC Discussion Series

Dear Supporter of UNA-BC,

Our next meeting of the Bill Kellogg UNA-BC Discussion Series will be held on Tuesday, October 4 at 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Boulder Creek Room of the Main Branch of the Boulder Public Library (Please note we are returning to our regular venue).

Our discussion leader is Dr. Douglas Snyder. Doug received his Ph.D. in History from the University of Colorado Boulder, specializing in the history of U.S. foreign policy, particularly during the Cold War era. He is a faculty member in CU’s Program in International Affairs and directs the Global Studies Residential Academic Program, and he teaches a wide range of courses in these programs.

Doug’s research bridges U.S., European, and Asian history to contribute to the ongoing movement toward internationalization by American historians. More broadly, he investigates how the United States deals with the legacies of colonialism and challenges to its understanding of the global Cold War. Out of his broad portfolio of research interests, Doug has selected a topic of vital current interest for our October 4 discussion with the title “The Future of Refugee Support.”

We hope you can attend and will help spread the word to other interested people. If you have any questions or suggestions about the series, please contact Robert McNown at 303-726-7153 or by email at president.unabc@gmail.com.
